Dallas responded in Game 3 on Friday, beating Phoenix at home 103-94 and tightening the series 2-1. But I don’t think the defensive effort they gave in Game 3 will carry over to today. The Mavericks forced the Suns to shoot 44.7% from the field and point guard Chris Paul into seven turnovers, one fewer than the entire Dallas team. That won’t happen today. The Mavs spent a lot of energy scratching out a game, but it doesn’t change the fact that the Suns are the better team. Paul and his teammates have zero interest in a pivotal Game 5 with the series tied 2-2. Dallas may play Phoenix tight, but the Suns take it.
