Miami Heat at Philadelphia 76ers, 7 pm Eastern
The Pick: Philadelphia +3.5 (-110), bet $11 to win $10
Finding a line getting 3.5 instead of just 3 was the key for me, here. This is Philadelphia’s last chance to make this a series. They’re back at home, they’ve been smacked twice in a week, and the Sixer fans will be giving their all for the team to get back in this. Of course, if the team fails to perform early, that crowd will turn on them and everything swirls down the proverbial toilet. Center Joel Embiid is still listed as out for the game, but it is said that “is subject to change,” and if he plays, that gives Philadelphia a huge boost. I’m kinda banking on Embiid playing, but I’m also banking on the Sixers throwing everything at the Heat tonight, the Heat taking their foot off the gas just a little, and that Philadelphia crowd making this whole evening a tense, taut affair. “Tense and taut” mean “take the points.”
Phoenix Suns at Dallas Mavericks, 9:30 pm Eastern
The Pick: Phoenix -110, bet $5.50 to win $5
Just a little taste on the Suns taking care of business tonight. I’ve been saying all along that Phoenix won’t allow Dallas to make this a competitive series, but if the Mavericks are to get a game, it’ll be tonight - hence the smaller play. But I still feel Sun superstars Chris Paul and Devin Booker value rest, and will want to finish Dallas off as quickly as possible.
