Golden State Warriors at Memphis Grizzlies, 3:30 pm Eastern
The Pick: Golden State -130, bet $13 to win $10
Even though I lost my series bet on Minnesota, I think my reasoning was borne out. Clearly, Memphis showed some inexperience at this level of playoff basketball. Frankly, Minnesota should’ve won the series - or rather, they shouldn’t have, as they blew three different games after holding double-digit leads - but they could’ve, if they weren’t even more unprepared for playoff basketball than the Grizzlies were. The Golden State Warriors will not be unprepared for the moment. Memphis may have been the better team during the regular season - but the Warriors had injury issues aplenty. They will be ready now. Draymond Green is back, Klay Thompson is back, and Steph Curry is back. While they were recovering, young players like Jordan Poole and Jonathan Kuminga emerged. Memphis got lucky last round - they’ll have even less room for error in this round. I think a more-rested Warriors team steals Game 1.
