O'Sullivan's Thursday NBA Playoffs Pick: Mavericks vs Jazz, Luka Doncic moves gingerly as series moves to Utah
Well, I was right about the Philly/Toronto game being a tight one. And I was right about Toronto throwing everything they had on the floor - I just didn’t appreciate that throwing “everything” meant tossing a bunch of bricks in overtime…and it still took a nonsense fall-away three-pointer from Joel Embiid to blow the cover for the Raptors…

Dallas Mavericks at Utah Jazz, 9 pm Eastern
The Pick: Dallas +7.5 (-114), bet $22.80 to win $20
Luka Doncic, struggling with a strained calf, is listed as questionable for tonight’s game. As far as I’m concerned, even without Doncic the Mavericks have proven they can hang with the Jazz. They really should be up 2-0 in this series; I wouldn’t argue they blew Game 1 but they had a lead in the fourth - let’s say they let it slip away. Dallas is 7-2-1 against the spread in their last ten games, 6-1 ATS against Utah. They are not going to be afraid of going into Utah’s arena, and even if Doncic doesn’t play, the spread strikes me as too high. If Doncic plays? This series, already tight, gets even more interesting.
