Chicago Bulls at Miami Heat, 7:30 pm Eastern

The Pick: Chicago +4.5 (-110), bet $40 to win $36.36

Miami guard Kyle Lowry is the key here. Or rather, the absence of Kyle Lowry. The veteran guard will be out of tonight’s game against Chicago for personal reasons, and he’s an underrated cog in the Heat machine. This will be a hard-fought game between the top two teams in the Eastern Conference. One game back, the Bulls will be gunning to tie Miami going into the home stretch. Chicago is 6-2 against the spread in their last eight, and All-Star DeMar DeRozan is on an absolute tear, averaging 28.3 points per game. The Bulls have lost six of seven to Miami, which tells me that DeRozan and company will want to get over this hump. The spread being 4.5 and not 4 tips it in Chicago’s favor.

San Antonio Spurs at Memphis Grizzlies, 8 pm Eastern

The Pick: Memphis -8.5 (-106), bet $40 to win $37.74

(shrug) Memphis at home, man. The Grizzlies are 20-10 at home, 26-11 as a favorite, and 18-12 ATS in their own arena. Including the All-Star Break, San Antonio has been on the road for three weeks. This is the Spurs’ eighth straight road game. Again, I know they had some days off in there, but that’s a chunk of games. The Spurs won a double-overtime game on Friday, then lost a tough one to Miami on Saturday. They get to go home after tonight. The Grizzlies continue to be on a mission. They’re 1.5 games out of second place in the West; I guarantee they want to be considered as good as Golden State.
