Look, today is the NBA All-Star Game, which is to say it’s an exhibition, which is to say, it’s meaningless, which is to say, there’s really no reason to make a gambling play on it unless you really, really feel the need to make a play on everything. Which (laughs), I guess…(sigh) here we are. Let’s do each other a favor and not read into this and wonder if it represents a red flag, okay? (chuckles)

Now, I’m not gonna make a play on the result of a game where the defense would embarrass matadors. But I’ll put a couple of value bets on who will win the game’s M.V.P. award. Based on history, the game’s up-and-down nature with little effort placed on defense favors guards who are controlling the pace, making spectacular passes, and scoring quickly. In the last 21 All-Star Games, a guard or wing has won M.V.P. 17 times. So, in that vein, I’ll put a little taste on each of the following players:
