O'Sullivan's Wednesday NBA Picks: Hornets at Spurs, Timberwolves at Nuggets

Charlotte Hornets at San Antonio Spurs, 8:30 pm Eastern, Minnesota Timberwolves at Denver Nuggets, 9 pm.

Seattle O’Sullivan 2021-2022 NBA Season so far: 90-106-2, -$288.23

(Standing Caveat: The universe is chaotic. Life is unpredictable. Things happen. Like injuries. In following Seattle O’Sullivan’s betting advice, be advised that you should always monitor your bets during the day to make certain unforeseen things have not occurred which might change your wagering opinion. Thank you.)

Charlotte Hornets at San Antonio Spurs, 8:30 pm Eastern

The Pick: San Antonio -155, bet $11.54 to win $7.50

San Antonio has shown a bit of improvement of late: 6-3 in their last nine games (7-2 against the spread). The Spurs have won 12 of their last 14 at home against Charlotte. A bigger factor may be injuries, however. The Hornets will be without LaMelo Ball, and Mason Plumlee is questionable with sore ribs. Charlotte has been slumping without Ball, and have lost six of their last eight games. I think the Hornets still might make some noise next spring, but right now we’re entering winter and I think they just wanna make it to the end of the year.

Minnesota Timberwolves at Denver Nuggets, 9 pm Eastern

The Pick: Denver -186, bet $13.89 to win $7.50

Minnesota has flummoxed me all year, but that’s not the reason I’m going against them today. The reason is Nikola Jokic, who is carrying his Denver Nuggets in what could be another MVP season. Averaging 26.5 points, 13.8 rebounds, and 7.3 assists per game (all tops on his team), Jokic has taken a Nuggets team with injury issues and made them a playoff contender yet again. They’re lurking around until they get back Jamal Murray, and then they might be dangerous come playoff time. The Nuggets also have one of the best home-court advantages in the NBA, and at 8-4 this season in their gym should be able to top a Minnesota team that’s lost five of its last six. Paying extra for the moneyline has helped me this week, so I’ll stick with it for now…
