The Pick: Memphis -120, bet $12 to win $10

The injury to Memphis star Ja Morant obviously hurts the Grizzlies (and thank goodness the knee sprain isn’t so bad that Morant is expected back in 3 to 5 weeks). But Sacramento has injuries as well. Guard Harrison Barnes is doubtful tonight with an ankle injury, and he had been really playing well until the Kings’ recent slide. New interim coach Alvin Gentry is an upgrade over Luke Walton, I feel, and Sacramento has won two in a row, but the Kings just beat the Los Angeles Lakers in a long, overtime game on Friday, and are now flying across most of the country to face a Memphis team hell-bent on proving they can survive without Morant. They can’t replace Morant but expect Grizzlies Desmond Bane and Dillon Brooks to show they’re not terrible alternatives.
