NBA Monday Bets: Fats likes RJ Barrett, Kelly Olynyk, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Julius Randle, Knicks v Lakers
Took a Golden Sombrero last night – 0-4 – and pulled the 5th bet because Kawhi Leonard needed some rest.
Short rant: If the NBA is going to promote betting on its product, the League needs to do something about injury reporting and load management. It's not conducive to betting on a game, when you have to be available to pay attention until the tip, to have any idea who's playing. Granted, Covid protocols this year make it worse, but when you read an afternoon injury report and it has no resemblance to the game time line-up, that's a problem.
Two games, five plays. Panning for gold today with Nugget Will Barton and really like the Pelicans against the Cavs. Would open the vault for them if they weren't the Pelicans.
All wagers and returns based on $10. Please check game time lineups before wagering.
Lakers at KNICKS 7:35 pm EDT, Rockets at SUNS 10:05 pm.
3-pointers: KNICKS -2 Over Lakers and Over 206 +255 (Returns $35.50) The Lakers have been on a long road trip in which they've alternated wins and losses. They're coming off a big win over the Nets. The Knicks have won two in a row and have a lot to improve on after last night's W.
2-pointers: RJ Barrett (Knicks) Over 1.5 made threes +110 (Returns $21.10) Barrett has made 2 or more threes in 4our straight games and shot a ridiculous 15-22 from deep during that time. Is he due for an 0-6? Maybe. But I hope to ride him another game.
Free Throws: Kelly Olynyk (Rockets) Over 22.5 points, rebounds assists -107 (Returns $19.40) Olynyk has won for me three times in a row with a similar number at lower odds. Of course, I'll cheer him on again.
Steals: Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (Lakers) Over 14.5 points, rebounds assists -113 (Returns $18.90) If Kyle Kuzma doesn't play.
Julius Randle (Knicks) Over 5.5 assists -127 (Returns $17.90) Randle has alternated between low-assist games and double-digit assist games. Even on the low nights he tends to get 5 or 6, but he's due for a high night.
3-pointers: Steven Adams (Pelicans) double-double +330 (Returns $43.00) Adams could be a rant unto himself. 26 minutes of play last night, he took one shot, scored 0 points. A starting NBA center takes one shot in a game? Sheesh.
Pelicans -6.5 Over CAVALIERS And Over 227.5 +260 (returns $36.00) The Pelicans covered 116-109, but the over missed by 3 points. That 26-15 4th quarter was a killer.
2-pointers: Will Barton (Nuggets) Over 3.5 assists +112 (Returns $21.20) Bad Barton Beat No. 1: Barton had 3 assists. The Nuggets, at home, were outscored in the 4th quarter 31-8. EIGHT!
Free Throws: None
Steals: Will Barton (Nuggets) Over 13.5 points -118 (Returns $18.50) Bad Barton Beat No. 2: Barton had 13 points. The Nuggets, at home, were outscored in the 4th quarter 31-8. EIGHT!
CLIPPERS -12 Over Pistons And Over 216.5 +260 (returns $36.00) Kawhi Leonard was supposed to play. Until he wasn't. The Clippers still won, but didn't cover, and he pulled the plug on the bet.
$40 wagered (0-4), $0 returned.
Day 96: -$40.00
