Bet the NBA Re-start: Greg Frank likes a motivated Celtics team Friday night against the East-favored Bucks

If I told you the Milwaukee Bucks are not going to win the East, who would you pick? The defending champion Toronto Raptors? Would you buy into the Sixers playing their best basketball of the season when it mattered most? Jimmy Butler and a young Miami core? I’d probably take Jayson Tatum, Kemba Walker and the Boston Celtics. After coming up one game shy of the NBA Finals two years ago, the Celtics were railroaded by Milwaukee in the second round of the playoffs last season. What better statement for Boston to make than beating Milwaukee in its first game of the restart? From a gambling perspective, what better bet to make than the Celtics catching five against the Bucks? The Bucks are all but locked into the top seed in the East. Much like the Lakers, who did not cover an identical five-point spread last night. We’re not running to the window to lay more than a possession with a Milwaukee team with questionable motivation. Boston plus the points is easily our favorite side of the day in the Association.
