NBA Finals by the Numbers – Warriors vs Raptors

The Warriors are in the NBA Finals for the 5th consecutive year. This is the 1st trip to the Finals for the Raptors. The Warriors are a -290 to win the series. The price on the Raptors is a +230 on FanDuel.

Game One is being played in Toronto. The Raptors are a 1 point favorite. The total for the over/under is 214.5. The money line is -102 for Golden State and -114 for the Raptors. The price on DraftKings is more favorable with the Warriors money line at +100 and the Raptors at -113.

PointsBet has set prop odds on how long the series will go.

4 games at +450. 5 games at +260. 6 games at +190. 7 games at +230.

Warriors are coming into Game One with 9 days of rest since they swept the Blazers. Raptors have been off 4 days since defeating the Bucks. The advantage of home court goes to the Raptors because they had the better regular season record. No 2-3-2 format so this round is the traditional 2-2-1-1-1, best of seven game series.

Kevin Durant is out for Game 1. No decision yet on Andre Iguodala or DeMarcus Cousins. Kawhi Leonard is showing himself to be the best two way player in the game right now. He is a great scorer and an outstanding defender.

Steve Kerr is a superior coach than his counterpart, Nick Nurse. Nurse does get credit for making a key adjustment that lead to defeating Milwaukee. A zone principle match up that the Bucks never adjusted to. The Raptors played outstanding defense from Game 3 thru 6. Not sure they can replicate that against the Warriors. Coach Kerr will scheme Leonard with aggressive double teams and limits switches. Sixers and Bucks did neither.

Draymond Green will continue his double double assault. Klay will post Kyle Lowry early and often. KD is the luxury that appears in Game 3 if healthy. If he does then it’s Warriors in 5. If he can’t go then series goes 6 or 7 with Warriors prevailing. Too many weapons and deeper dependable bench wins it for the Dubs.
