Mims brings us up to speed on the NBA Playoffs

The NBA 2019 Playoffs started this weekend with a couple of surprises. The first was the Sixers losing outright to the Nets. Brooklyn shot well from 3-point range and the Sixers did not shoot well at all. Nets bench scored 59 points while the Sixers scored 26. More scoring from Ben Simmons, Tobias Harris and J.J. Redick would minimize the lack of bench production.

The Raptors losing to Magic was the 2nd surprise of the weekend. The Raptors have lost 14 of their 16 playoff opening round games. Orlando came in hot and their size up front seemed to bother Toronto. Kawhi Leonard is clearly the best player on either team but some support from Kyle Lowry would be nice. Lowry went scoreless.

The Warriors and the Bucks dominated their games over the Clippers and Pistons. Portland handle the Thunder by 5. Damian Lillard scored 30. The betting public has OKC as the favorite in this series. I invested in Dame Time because of the value of having home-court if it goes seven games.

Some of my other thoughts over the weekend did not go as planned. I thought the Sixers game would go over 228 and that the Nuggets would cover the -5.5 against the Spurs. The money line plays on the Warriors and Bucks were easy wins. My selections for the weekend were 2-2.

Follow me tonight on Twitter during the Sixers and Nets Game 2. The second game between the Warriors and the Clippers is also part of the telecast on TNT.
