Happy Monday, fellow sports bettors! Friday was so-so for us on the MLB side of things. We went 2-2 to run our record to 100-96 on the season. Both of our strikeout prop parlays cashed for us with relative ease, so we're going to keep riding those for the foreseeable future.
Unfortunately, our two game totals did not go as planned. Both unders went up in smoke, but it was still a decent week at 10-8 for a small profit. Let's start the week off with two player prop parlays for Monday, June 9. Good luck, my friends.
CIN at CLE - 6:40 PM EDT and CHC at PHI - 6:45 PM EDT
Luis Ortiz has helped us cash several tickets this season, and I'm going to keep riding him as long as the books give us decent prices on his 5+ Ks. The young righty draws a very favorable matchup tonight against a Reds team that strikes out a ton against right-handers. Cincinnati currently has the 6th-highest K-rate in baseball against righties, so I'm pretty confident that Ortiz can find us at least 5 Ks.
Ortiz racked up 7 punchouts against the Reds around three weeks ago on May 18th. The more impressive thing was that Ortiz did this on the road at the cracker box known as Great American Ballpark. Look for Ortiz to use his 96-mph fastball and his 85-mph slider to generate lots of swings and misses from guys like Matt McLain, Tyler Stephenson, and Will Benson.
The books aren't giving us much value with Big Zack tonight against a feisty Cubs lineup, but I can't resist putting such a seasoned guy in this parlay. Wheeler is the model of consistency when it comes to striking guys out, as he ranks in the 93rd percentile in K-rate.
Wheeler has put up some impressive numbers in his career against this Cubs roster. Through 119 batters faced, Wheeler's K-rate is 28.6%. That's a number worthy of a bet, even though the Cubs have one of the best offenses in baseball. Look for Wheeler to help get us to the pay window tonight in Philly.
ATL at MIL - 7:40 PM EDT and SEA at AZ - 9:40 PM EDT
Sale has arguably been the best pitcher in the National League over the last month or so. The reigning Cy Young winner has narrowed his repertoire down to only two pitches (fastball/slider), and the results have been simply phenomenal. Like Wheeler, Sale draws a tough matchup tonight against a high-contact team.
Milwaukee has gotten hot lately after a rough start to the season, but I still think Sale can find 6 Ks through at least 6 innings of solid work. The Braves have lost 7 in a row, and Sale is the type of stopper that can get them a win in a desperate spot. Let's play him to get us at least 6 Ks.
Did y'all see how dominant Merrill Kelly looked against the Braves last week? The 36-year-old righty was using his changeup like a master magician, and he looks to finally be fully healthy after an injury-riddled 2024. Kelly gets a pretty decent matchup tonight at home against Seattle.
The Mariners' offense has improved by leaps and bounds over last season, but they still struggle to make contact at times. Seattle has the 10th-highest K-rate in MLB against righties, and they have the 11th-highest K-rate over the last two weeks. Give me Kelly to help us cash out this late-night parlay.
