Happy Tuesday, sports betting family! Monday was a good night for us on the diamond, as our MLB best bets went 2-1 to run our record to 9-6 on the young season for a profit of 3.44 units.
Cade Povich cashed our first strikeout prop of the year with ease, as he mowed down the Red Sox lineup to go over 4.5 Ks in the first two innings. The Cubs also gave us a no-sweat winner against the A's to ensure the winning night.
Our lone loss was on the Cardinals, whose bullpen melted down in the 10th inning against the Angels. Let's keep things rolling with 3 MLB best bets for Tuesday, April 1st. Good luck!
TEX at CIN - 6:40 PM EDT
I'm a big Nate Eovaldi fan, and I think he gives the Rangers a much-needed boost tonight after they were whipped by the Reds yesterday. The 35-year-old righty looked fantastic against Boston on Opening Day (6 IP, 9 Ks), but he got no help from his offense. Eovaldi does a fabulous job of inducing ground balls, which is a big plus when pitching at Great American Ballpark.
Texas should be able to do some damage against Carson Spiers, who had a K-rate of just 19.5% a year ago. The young righty also ranked just 13th in ground ball percentile. That could spell some serious trouble against Corey Seager and Adolis Garcia tonight.
The Rangers had to use a lot of their bullpen arms in last night's blowout loss, so I'm playing this one in the first 5 innings. The juice isn't ideal, but I trust Eovaldi to get it done for us tonight. Go Rangers!
WSH at TOR - 7:07 PM EDT
What am I missing here? We faded Jose Berrios on Opening Day, and it paid off handsomely. The Orioles lit him up for 6 earned runs on 9 hits in only 5 innings of work. That tells me that this scrappy Nats lineup should be able to generate some runs tonight.
You just have to admire how Trevor Williams turned his career around last season. The 32-year-old righty had an ERA of just 2.03 before getting hurt after 13 starts. The 6'3", 231-pounder looked pretty good in Spring Training, and I think he can keep these Blue Jays bats under wraps for the first half of this one.
I don't trust either of these bullpens, so we'll once again roll with the first 5 innings option. For full disclosure, I played this one for 1.5 units instead of my usual 2 units. I'll do this from time to time on some of these plus money plays this season.
LAA at STL - 7:45 PM EDT
Maybe I'm a glutton for punishment, but I'm going back to the well with the Cards tonight, even after they cost us the sweep yesterday evening. I used to like Angels starter Kyle Hendricks, but he's been nothing but fade material the past couple of years.
Hendricks was a human gas can last season in Chicago, as his ERA ballooned to a career-worst 5.92. That tells me that guys like Willson Contreras and Nolan Arenado could be in for a huge night at the plate.
St. Louis's lineup has started off hot this season, as they rank 5th in WRC+ so far. Even after blowing last night's game, I still trust the Cardinals' bullpen more than the Angels.
