Tuesday MLB Betting Preview: 3 Best Bets and 2 Player Props for April 23

After a tough 1-3 evening on the diamond, we're eager to get back to the winner's circle. Check out our MLB betting preview for Tuesday, April 23 below! Good luck!

Monday was not kind to us, as our MLB picks ended up 1-3. It was a frustrating night, and it was especially tough watching the D'Backs bullpen blow the lead against the Cards. Oh well, that's baseball.

Time to shake it off and move on! Tuesday's betting card looks mighty good, and we even found a couple of strikeout props to play! Good luck, folks!

Brewers -110 (BetMGM)

If you have an account with BetMGM, this may be a good one to use their MLB Odds Boost on today. I did this with my personal account and got the odds to +120. How cool is that?

The Beer Makers let us down last night, but I don't see them losing two in a row to the P'Rats. Wade Miley was supposed to start this one, but Milwaukee just had to place him on the IL with elbow issues. Various sources think it'll be rookie Tobias Myers making his Major League debut for the Brewers.

I hope Myers does get the start because this kid has a live arm! He struck out 175 batters in 140.2 innings of work last season in the Minors. So far this year in AAA, Myers has a tiny ERA of just 1.62. Let's cheer for the Beer!

Twins -1.5 (-113) (BetRivers)

Sometimes handicapping baseball is more simple than we realize. The White Sox are historically bad, and I'll be trying to fade them at every turn until they show signs of life. Minnesota's bats have been awful, but they got going last night en route to a 7-0 victory.

The pitching edge goes to Minny in this matchup, both with the starter and the pen. I'm a big believer in Pablo Lopez and I love his K-rate of 25.8% and his WHIP of only 0.97.

Lopez has a 95 mph four seamer that looks more like 100 mph because of his insane extension. I don't see the South Siders doing much of anything at the plate tonight. Let's lay the 1.5 with the Twinkies!

Mariners -110 (bet365)

Seattle's offense finally looks like it has some positive momentum. Maybe the trip to Coors Field was just what this lineup needed to get going. After a painfully slow start, the Mariners have won 7 of their last 10 games.

Logan Gilbert is one of my favorite pitchers to bet on! He's not a household name yet, so you can still get him at decent prices. Like Lopez with Minny, Gilbert also has a 95mph with the most extension in MLB.

Texas has the better lineup in this game, so that's kind of a concern. Even still, I like the edges that Seattle has with Gilbert and their solid bullpen. Let's go M's!

Marcus Stroman Over 5.5 Ks (-108) (FanDuel)

I know Stroman is more of a groundball guy than a flamethrowing strikeout guy, but I made this line 6.5 because of Oakland's lineup. The A's have one of the highest K-rates in all of baseball against right-handers.

Though Stroman has kind of a below-average strikeout rate, I do like that his chase rate is in the 54th percentile. Back to the A's lineup, they have 5 guys with K-rates of 24.6% or higher (and 3 of those fellas are over 30%). Look for Stroman and his 90 mph sinker to dominate Oak-Town.

Steven Matz Under 4.5 Ks (-134) (FanDuel)

This line should be 3.5 instead of 4.5! Matz's K-rate against this Arizona lineup is just 15.3% for his career. Matz hits his spots well and never walks a lot of guys, but he just doesn't have overpowering stuff.

Matz's overall K-rate of 13.8% puts him in just the 8th percentile in MLB. His whiff rate isn't much higher, as it's in the 13th percentile. Arizona has 5 players with strikeout rates less than 15%. Play the Under with confidence!
