Happy Monday, sports betting family! I hope y'all had fantastic weekends! Our massive winning streak came to an abrupt end on Friday, as we stumbled to a 1-2 mark.

The Yankees and the Tigers both let us down, but thankfully, Freddy Peralta dominated the Mariners lineup to keep us from suffering the dreaded golden sombrero. We're back and ready to roll with 3 MLB best bets for Monday, April 8.

Phillies +101

The Philadelphia bats just haven't gotten any momentum going yet, which is a big reason why they're just 4-5 so far this season. As a team, the Phils are hitting just .228, even though Bryce Harper is off to a decent start with 3 homers and a .290 batting average.

As disappointing as the Phillies offense has been, I think this is a great 'get-right' spot for them against a familiar National League foe. The Cards will be starting Miles Mikolas, and this Philadelphia lineup has a combined expected batting average of .304 against him. Nick Castellanos has taken Mikolas deep twice in just 21 career at-bats.

The Phils bullpen does scare me a little bit because of their rough start to 2024. Nevertheless, these relievers have too much talent to not figure things out soon. Give me the City of Brotherly Love at a slight dog price!

D'Backs -1.5 (-120) (BetMGM)

I'm not going to outsmart myself on this one! These two pitchers just faced off against each other on March 28th and it was total domination by Arizona. The D'Backs routed the Rockies to the tune of 16-1 and Colorado starter Kyle Freeland gave up 10 (yes TEN) earned runs in only 2.1 innings of work.

The 30-year old lefty didn't fare much better a week later against the Cubs, as he gave up 7 earned runs in that game. Arizona should be in a foul mood after getting swept by Atlanta over the weekend. The D'Backs are hitting .317 against lefties this season, so look for an offensive explosion from Corbin Carroll, Ketel Marte, and Christian Walker.

Also, don't forget that Zona will have their ace on the hill in this one. Zac Gallen has been a model of consistency for quite some time. He's only given up 1 earned run in 11 innings of work so far this season. Let's lay the run line with the D'Backs!

Cubs +125

The Cubbies are off to a nice 6-3 start and the offense has been knocking the cover off the ball. Ian Happ is hitting .333 and guys like Dansby Swanson (.310) and Christopher Morel (.306) aren't too far behind him. Yu Darvish is a wily old veteran, but I think the North Siders can do some damage against him in this spot.

Chicago starter Javier Assad is a bit of an unknown commodity, but he put up some decent numbers in 2023 (5-3 with a 3.05 ERA). Assad has a 93 mph sinker and a nasty little cutter that keeps hitters guessing. He'll have to be careful against Fernado Tatis Jr. and Manny Machado, but the Pads don't have many other proven hitters in their lineup.

Chicago's bullpen has also outperformed San Diego's up to this point. Cubs relievers have an ERA of 4.43. That isn't anything to write home about, but it's still much better than the Padres bullpen ERA of 5.56. Let's ride the Cubbies at a nice dog price! Good luck tonight, fellow sports investors!
