Thursday MLB Strikeout Props: Krothers picks Freddy Peralta, Frankie Montas, Joe Musgrove

Yikes! My first picks back from vacation and I went 1-2. If you were following along and bet on Giolito with the +120 you were happy, but otherwise, not so much. Time to tinker around with BKPM™ (Batmans’ Strikeout Predictor Machine) and tweak a few things.

On to the K picks…

Brewers @ Pirates, 7:05 pm ET

The Brewers’ Freddy Peralta is blowing up the BKPM™ tonight with a projection of 10-11 strikeouts. Why is that exciting? Because FanDuel is offering +112 for over 6.5 strikeouts tonight – hop on that wagon before it’s left the station.

Athletics @ Angels, 9:38 pm ET

For this game I’m going to look at the A’s Frankie Montas. He’s had a few 10K outings of late, along with some stinker 3K ones. So, we need to dig deeper to find more data points. Lucky for us, he’s faced the Angels twice already this season – the first time he struck out 7, the next time 8. The BKPM™ doesn’t think tonight will go so well and maxes him out at 6 strikeouts. Given my need to tweak the machine I’m betting against it – let’s take the over 6.5 and +132 at FanDuel.

Rockies @ Padres, 10:10 pm ET

The Padres have Joe Musgrove on the hill tonight and I think he’s going to have a good game. I’m sure the whole San Diego organization is jazzed about Max Scherzer coming over and are going to be pumped up for this game. I see Musgrove getting 8-9 K tonight, so it’s an easy pick to take the over 6.5 at -125 being offered up by DraftKings.
