Thursday MLB Strikeout Props: Krothers is over unders, picks Marcus Stroman, Brandon Woodruff, Shohei Ohtani

My undefeated streak went down as Clayton Kershaw had a good night – but I still went 2-1, which means I’m 8-1 over the last 3 days – not bad, right? I did get lucky with one pick – that of Jacob deGrom who went down (again) with an injury. Surprised no one is blaming MLB for his injury… yet.

It looks like the algos have quickly caught up to the week's pitching changes, so I’m deviating today from the ‘under-drum’ I’ve been beating. Let’s see if we can keep up the winning…

Cubs @ Mets, 7:10 pm ET

The Mets’ Marcus Stroman has been up and down on the K meter this season, but unlike some other pitchers he seems to be trending up. This might be tight, but I like him to get 7-8 strikeouts against these Cubbies, so I’m going to take the over 6.5 and +142 from FanDuel.

Brewers @ Rockies, 8:40 pm ET

The Brew-crew have Brandon Woodruff on the mound today and he’s struck out 97 over 83 innings so far this year. And yet, the over/under K line for him is set at 6.5 – is this because of the recent spin rate changes or that the game is in Colorado? Maybe a combination of the two? I’m going to gamble on an overcorrection here and pick the over 6.5 and +116 from FanDuel.

Tigers @ Angels, 9:38 pm ET

The Angels have Shohei Ohtani on the mound, at home, against one of the worst hitting teams in the league. Should be a slam-dunk win – but who cares about that when we’re trying to pick strikeouts over here? Ohtani has been brilliant as a hitter and pitcher this year and against this lineup should get 8-9K at home. I wish this line was lower, but I’m going with the over 7.5 and -115 from the folks at BetMGM.
