Friday MLB Strikeout Prop Picks: Krothers (7-1) picks Zach Plesac, Zack Wheeler and Lance McCullers Jr.

Went 2-0 last night with my picks (7-1 on Ks overall) and I’m feeeeling good. The temptation to bet more is there, but I set my limit rules and stick to them. A reminder, if you or a family member has a betting problem please get help.

Tigers @ Indians, 7:10 pm ET

The line I’m seeing on Zach Plesac is +119 for over 5.5. This Tigers lineup is certainly strikeout-prone, but as good as Plesac’s K/IP ratio was last year, I’m not sold on him yet. I’m going to go with the under currently listed at -155.

Phillies @ Braves, 7:20 pm ET

Zack Wheeler is dealing and the Phillies are rolling. Given he blanked the Braves last time, going 7 innings and striking out 10, I’m confident in taking the over 5.5 at -155.

Athletics @ Astros, 8:10 pm ET

You always expect Lance McCullers, Jr. to get a nice 1K/1IP, so when the line says under 6.5 at -134 you have to figure out if you think he’s going to go 7 innings. Lucky for us, we only have to look at his last start, which was against this same Oakland team. He went 5 and struck out 7 – which is an anomaly for him and for this A’s team that doesn’t K often – so can he do it again? Well, the difference this time is that they are in Houston. I’m going to say yes and take the +105 with the over.
