BoopProps Tuesday MLB: Rhys Hoskins is getting hot, Bryce Harper hits the Nats and the Phillies need a win

The Phillies vs the Nationals first pitch is at 6:05 pm EDT.

Remember last season, when Bryce Harper homered to put a cherry on top of his first meeting against his former team, an eighth-inning blast to nail down a Phillies’ 8-2 victory over the Washington Baseball Club at Citizens Bank Park.

Well, here we are a year later and Harper gets to face his former team again for the first time . . . as the defending World Series champions.

Even though he won’t admit it, that has to sting a little, don’t you think? What better way to ease that stinger than with another dinger, right?

Although three of his last four hits have been home runs, Harper is 2-for-15 (both homers) over the last five games, four of them losses. He hit .344 at Nationals Park last season (two homers) and no reason to think he can’t pick up here where he picked up last season.

Rhys Hoskins finally got on the 2020 home run board in last series’ opener against the Braves. He has raised his average from .111 to .224 over the last 14 games and appears to be close to back on track. The first look at the 2019 World Champions should also help him to keep his focus.

We usually go for just the Home Run Prop, but we are going to split the bet on each and lay half on the Home Run/Win Prop. The Phillies need some some Ws. Might as well start here.
