Wednesday MLB Best Bets: Eckel picks HRs, Phillies vs Red Sox, Nationals vs Braves, Rangers vs Padres, and Angels vs Giants

Philadelphia Phillies at Boston Red Sox, 1:35 pm, Washington Nationals at Atlanta Braves, 7:10 pm, Texas Rangers at San Diego Padres, 9:10 pm, and Los Angeles Angels at San Francisco Giants, 9:40 pm

A 2-for-3 Tuesday included wins from Atlanta and the Rangers/Padres going over 9 runs. The lone loss was the Yankees at home to Tampa Bay.

Wednesday’s action starts early and goes all night. So let’s get to it.

Philadelphia Phillies at Boston Red Sox, 1:35 p.m.

Pitchers: Jake Arrieta vs. Kyle Hart

Odds: Phillies -145; Red Sox +125

Washington Nationals at Atlanta Braves, 7:10 p.m.

Pitchers: Erick Fredde vs. Kyle Wright

Odds: Nats +110; Braves -130

Texas Rangers at San Diego Padres, 9:10 p.m.

Pitchers: Lance Lynn vs. Chris Paddack

Odds: Rangers even; Padres -120

Los Angeles Angels at San Francisco Giants, 9:40 p.m.

Pitchers: Patrick Sandoval vs. Johnny Cueto

Odds: Angels -135; Giants +115

The Cycle

Single: Boston is bad, real bad. A loss Wednesday would make it 10 straight and rumors are spreading of trading away more good players. The Phillies can hit and that’s bad news for Sox rookie Kyle Hart. Take the Phillies.

Double: Johnny Cueto looks like the Cueto, who was an ace for the Reds and took the Royals to the World Series, this season. Look for another good effort from Johnny B. Good against an underachieving Angels team. Take the Giants.

Triple: Parlay the Braves over the Nats in the rubber game of that series with the Padres going home to face the crybaby Rangers.

Home Run: We’re going to with Atlanta’s Marcel Ozuna and the Dodgers’ Max Muncy.
