Sunday MLB Odds & Picks from Eckel: Orioles vs Nationals, Tigers vs Pirates, Rockies vs Mariners, and HR picks

Baltimore Orioles at Washington Nationals, 12:25 pm, Detroit Tigers at Pittsburgh Pirates, 1:35 pm, and Colorado Rockies at Seattle Mariners, 4:10 pm

A third subpar night, Saturday, has brought out a time-tested system for Sunday’s games.

Not to bore you with the details, but Sunday’s picks will involve all home teams.

Baltimore Orioles at Washington Nationals, 12:25 pm

Pitchers: Asher Wojciechowski vs. Stephen Strasburg

Odds: Orioles +190; Nationals -225

Detroit Tigers at Pittsburgh Pirates, 1:35 pm

Pitchers: Spencer Turnbull vs. Steven Brault

Odds: Tigers -110; Pirates -110

Colorado Rockies at Seattle Mariners, 4:10 pm

Pitchers: German Marquez vs. Justus Sheffield

Odds: Rockies -160; Mariners +140

The Cycle

Single: The Pirates have won just three times in their first 14 games and have been battered by the Tigers in the first two games of the series. Brault will lead what looks like a bullpen game for the Bucs, who are due for a home win to cool off the surprising Tigers (6-5).

Double: Colorado has been one of the hottest teams in the league and not just at home. The Rockies will look for a three-game road sweep Sunday in Seattle. Look for the Mariners and one-time Yankees prospect Sheffield to get the upset win.

Triple: The World Champ Nats need a wake-up call after a 4-6 start to the season. Maybe Strasburg’s season debut is the trick. In any event Washington should not get swept at home by the Orioles. The odds are bad so put them in a parlay with Seattle and Pittsburgh.

Home Run: Let’s go with Cody Bellinger, of the Dodgers and Eugenio Suarez, of Cincinnati.
