The bad news is that Rhys Hoskins has now gone a career-high 19 consecutive games without hitting a home run, a span during which he is hitting .092 (6-for-65). That dates back to the final 12 games of 2019.

The good news is that his last home run of 2019 came on Sept. 17, against the Atlanta Braves. In fact, his first home run of 2019 also came against the Atlanta Braves. And look who just happens to be visiting Citizens Bank Park Friday night.

The Phillies’ offense has seemed to perk up lately. They have scored at least five runs in four of their last six games and managed three off Gerrit Cole in a fifth.

Would be nice to see how the offense looks if Hoskins can get even slightly as hot as J.T. Realmuto (7-for-his-last-14).
