MLB Tuesday - Albert Picks Brewers v Mariners, Phillies v Mets, Pirates v Astros, Braves v Cubs, Zack Davies, Jake Arrieta, Trevor Williams

Favorite Pick of the Day:
Brewers (-185) over Mariners

Dumpster Fire Pick of the Day:
Phillies (-135) over Mets

Are You Sure? Pick of the Day:
Pirates (+220) over Astros

Pick ’em of the Day:
Braves (-110) over Cubs

The Skinny:
The Brewers are good, especially at home. They are 4-0 in Zack Davies' last four home starts and 7-1 in Davies' last eight starts vs. a team with a losing record. That, and the Mariners are 3-14 in their last 17 games following a win. . . . The fire rages on. Sure, the Phillies got off the snide on Monday thanks to some bamboo, but correct me if I’m wrong, bamboo is still flammable. But I’m taking Jake Arrieta over the messy Mets. The Phillies are 4-0 in Arrieta’s last four starts when their opponent allows five runs or more in their previous game. Also, I don’t always bet umpires, but the Mets are 0-5 in their last five games with Eric Cooper behind home plate, which is hard to ignore. . . . This is a longer shot than I normally take, but I like the Pirates to steal one from the Astros. The Pirates are 8-0 in Trevor Williams' last eight interleague starts and 5-1 in his last six starts when their opponent scores five runs or more in their previous game. Meanwhile, the Astros are 1-7 in their last eight overall. . . . This one is simple. Braves are 4-0 in their last four games following a loss, 4-0 in Max Fried’s last four starts, 5-1 in his last six starts vs. National League Central and 5-1 in his last six starts vs. a team with a winning record.
