MLB Saturday -- Frank on Blue Jays v Rockies, Red Sox v Yankees, Mets v Diamondbacks . . . Stroman, Porcllo, German, deGrom, Greinke

Blue Jays (+138) over Rockies

Red Sox (+109) over Yankees

Best Total of the Day
Mets at Diamondbacks (First Five - Under 4)

Next Best Total of the Day
Red Sox at Yankees (First Five - Under 5.5)

The Skinny
How can we not give out Marcus Stroman at this price? The Blue Jays’ ace has gotten off on the right foot 12 starts into the year with a 2.74 ERA and striking out over seven hitters per nine innings. Get used to hearing his name as he figures to be the subject of a lot of trade rumors the next two months with the Blue Jays not likely to contend. The Rockies offense has been hot, and Coors Field always produces high-scoring games, but both of those factors are overvalued in this spot with a much better pitcher in Stroman listed as a +138 pup against Jon Gray and his pedestrian numbers . . . Rick Porcello’s not good, but he’s good against the Yankees ironically. Yankee hitters are slashing just .235/.303/.416 against him and he’s been getting ample run support in recent starts as Boston is 7-1 in Porcello’s last eight trips to the mound. While Boston should be a favorite in the Bronx, youngster Domingo German is worth respecting enough to where going under 5.5 in the first five innings makes sense in this one as well . . . Jacob deGrom first five innings unders were one of the most profitable trends in baseball gambling last season. He’s not quite at the same level so far in 2019, but a scuffling Diamondbacks team isn’t the kind of team that takes advantage of the slight dip in deGrom’s performance so far this season. Throw in Zack Greinke starting for Arizona and I was expecting this first five total to be 3.5 or maybe even 3 which we saw in a pitching matchup between deGrom and Washington’s Max Scherzer 10 days ago. At four, we’ll gladly bet under.
