MLB Tuesday: Albert’s Quick Picks – Red Sox vs Blue Jays, Phillies vs Cubs, White Sox vs Astros, Marlins vs Tigers

Favorite Pick of the Day:
Red Sox (-149) over BLUE JAYS

Streaky Pick of the Day
Phillies (+126) over CUBS

Are You Sure? Pick of the Day:
White Sox (+300) over ASTROS

Pick’em of the Day:
TIGERS (-110) over Marlins

The Skinny:
This one comes down to pitching. The Red Sox are 24-5 in Eduardo Rodriguez’s last 29 starts vs. a team with a losing record, while the Blue Jays are 1-6 in Marcus Stroman’s last seven home starts. . . . When you’re hot, you’re hot. And the Phillies are hot. Monday night’s comeback is something that can ignite a team, and having Zach Eflin on the mound helps that, too. The Phillies are 6-1 in Eflin’s last seven starts when their opponent allows five runs or more in their previous game. It’ll be interesting to see how Gabe Kapler manages the lineup with Eflin pitching well to Andrew Knapp at the same time JT Realmuto is hotter than the surface of the sun. . . . Call me a lunatic. It would be a fair assessment of this pick. But +300 is hard to pass up, so I’m going to pepper it a little bit. Sure, the Astros are 7-0 in Justin Verlander’s last seven starts vs. a team with a losing record, but that has to end sometime, right? . . . I’ll take a home team over the Marlins every day of the week, especially when it’s a pick’em. The Tigers are 4-1 in Spencer Turnbull’s last five starts vs. a team with a losing record and 4-1 in his last five starts overall.
