Baseball Saturday: Albert on Dodgers v Reds, Phillies v Rockies, Cubs v Nationals, Giants v D’backs, Buehler, Nola, Strasburg, Bumgarner

Favorite Pick of the Day:
Dodgers (-152) over Reds

My Dumb Brain Pick of the Day:
Phillies (-176) over Rockies

I Don’t Understand Pick of the Day:
Cubs (+120) over Nationals

Pick’em of the Day:
Giants (-110) over Diamondbacks

The Skinny:

I’ve been picking against the Reds a fair amount lately, and it has not been a bad thing for me. So let’s ride it, especially with Walker Buehler on the mound for the Dodgers. The Dodgers are 6-1 in Buehler’s last seven starts versus a team with a losing record. . . . This is just my dumb brain at work, but every time Aaron Nola takes the mound I think he is going to snap back to the Nola of last year. It has not happened yet, but you won’t catch me on the losing end of a bet when it does. Even though Nola has not been great this year, the Phillies are 4-1 in his last five starts. . . . Alright, someone explain this one to me: The Cubs are one of the hottest teams in baseball and they are still dogs against the Nationals? I get Stephen Strasburg is on the bump at home, but c’mon. The Nationals are 1-7 in their last eight after scoring five runs or more in their previous game, which they did last night and still lost. Take the money and run. . . . This one is truly a toss-up, but I’m leaning Giants solely based on Madison Bumgarner being on the hill. The Giants are 4-1 in Bumgarner’s last five starts after allowing five runs or more in their previous game while the Diamondbacks are 1-5 in Zack Godley’s last six starts after scoring five runs or more in their previous game.
