Baseball Friday: Albert on Mets v Marlins, Cubs v Nationals, Rockies v Phillies, White v Blue Jays, deGrom, Scherzer, Hamels, Irvin

Favorite Pick of the Day:
Mets (-222) over Marlins

Ride the Wave Pick of the Day
Cubs (+131) over Nationals

Are you sure? Pick of the Day:
Rockies (+108) over Phillies

Pick’em of the Day:
White Sox (-110) over Blue Jays

The Skinny:
I hate laying a lot to get a little back, but I also hate free money, which is what Jacob deGrom against the Marlins will be today. While a win with him on the mound has not been a guarantee this year by any means, the Mets are 4-1 in deGrom’s last five starts when their opponent allows two runs or less in their previous game. Plus, the Marlins are really bad. . . . Obviously with Max Scherzer on the mound, the Nationals are going to be favored. But the Cubs counter with Cole Hamels, who knows how to keep things rolling. And the Cubs are rolling. Not only are they 8-2 in their last 10 games following a loss, they are 6-1 in Hamels' last seven starts. . . . When things are bad, things are bad. And things are bad for the Phillies right now. I just don’t trust that Cole Irvin is ready to pull them out of that in his second career start. Plus, the Rockies are 6-1 in Jon Gray’s last seven road starts vs. a team with a winning record. . . . The last pick is more about the Jays than the Sox. The Blue Jays are 1-4 in their last five road games, 0-5 in their last five when their opponent allows two runs or less in their previous game and 2-9 in their last 11 overall. On the other hand, the White Sox are 4-1 in their last five.
