MLB Tuesday: Albert’s Quick Pitch Picks – Cubs v Reds, Brewers v Phillies, Indians v White Sox, and Orioles v Yankees
Favorite Pick of the Day:
Cubs (-141) over REDS
Momentum Pick of the Day
PHILLIES (+100) over Brewers
Are you sure? Pick of the Day:
WHITE SOX (+161) over Indians
Long Shot Pick of the Day:
Orioles (+206) over YANKEES
The Skinny:
Sure, Sonny Gray is on the mound for the Reds, but the Cubs are the hottest team in baseball. They are 6-0 in their last six road games vs. a right-handed starter, 5-0 in their last five games following an off day and 6-0 in their last six when their opponent allows five runs or more in their previous game. You betting against them? I’m not. . . . I understand momentum is not a thing in sports, but how can the Phillies not build off last night’s win? Probably their biggest of the season. And to come out on Tuesday on the plus side of the coin? Take the money and run. Jerad Eickhoff is on the mound with his 1.50 ERA. . . . I was close to pulling the trigger yesterday, so I’ll do it today. The White Sox are 4-1 in their last five after scoring five runs or more in their previous game, while the Indians are 0-4 in their last four after allowing five runs or more in their previous game. That and the Indians are 1-4 in Carlos Carrasco’s last five road starts. . . . Let’s try this again. This is indeed a long shot, but the Yankees are coming off an intense series with the Rays back to friendly confines against an inferior opponent and a Monday night postponement, all the makings of a letdown. Also, the Orioles are 4-1 in Andrew Cashner’s last five road starts vs. a team with a winning record. At that price, it’s worth the flyer.
