MLB Tuesday: Albert’s Quick Pitch Picks - Cubs v Marlins, Pirates v Tigers, Mets v Phillies, Red Sox v Yankees

Favorite Pick of the Day:
Cubs (-133) over MARLINS

Over/Under of the Day
Pirates vs TIGERS – OVER (7.5)

Pick’em of the Day:
Red Sox (-110) over YANKEES

If You Must:
Mets (+100) over PHILLIES

The Skinny:
The Cubs are 4-0 in their last four meetings with the Marlins, so they are a solid play at -133 despite the inconsistent Jose Quintana on the mound. Despite being 1-7 in his last eight road starts, the Cubs are 4-1 in Quintana’s last five starts during Game 2 of a series. Take all of this how you will. . . . The trends for the Pittsburgh v Detroit matchup mostly point to the UNDER, other than all of the head-to-head trends, which actually paint a better picture. OVER is 9-1 in the last 10 meetings in Detroit between the two teams, and OVER is 14-3 in the last 17 overall. . . . What a disappointing start for both the Yankees and the Red Sox, both of whom won at least 100 games last year. Their first matchup of the season is a pick’em, but the trends favor the road team. The Red Sox are 4-1 in the last five meetings between the two teams. . . . There’s a saying about fooling me twice. This was supposed to be a breakout year for Nick Pivetta, but it’s been a dud thus far. The Phillies are 1-6 in Pivetta’s last seven starts vs. National League East. Plus, the Mets are playing really well for some reason.
