Race 1: 3rd@ 11.50/1

In Race 1, Society Man stalked the pace early, made a run on the far turn while wide and flattened out late. In Race 6, The Delaware Boyz vied three wide and weakened late. In Race 9, the debuting First Class Cat dueled early and tired.
We’ll keep our focus at Aqueduct for a sunny Saturday where we’re expecting a fast main track. Let’s get to the action!
Aqueduct:
Race 1: Light the Way - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 8/1)
Maidens race 6 1/2 furlongs to start our day and we’ve got a 4/5 favorite on the morning line named Silo Ridge that I’m itching to blow up. His first start was nothing special and he never changed leads in his second start while earning a high speed figure against a next out winner. Sure he can win but he was 8/1 that day and he’ll be 1/1 or less today. I prefer Light the Way at his 8/1 morning line. Regally bred by Triple Crown winning sire Justify out of the Grade 1 placed dam By the Light makes this guy a half to multiple Grade 1 winner on turf By the Moon. He’s caught muddy tracks in his last two and he should be better set second off the layoff over a fast track for a trainer who’s 21% for the meet.
Race 7: Awesome Native - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 5/2)
Allowance/optional claimers race 7 furlongs and Awesome Native is the selection off a 4 for 8 lifetime record so far. Three of those wins have come right here at Aqueduct and he’s as good as he’s ever been stalking and pouncing a quick pace last time out. His barn is a little cold at the moment but they get a hot rider in Manny Franco and I like him at 5/2 in this spot.
Race 8: You Look Cold - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 6/1)
The Garland of Roses is today’s feature race. The field is packed with early pace and on a seasonably mild day in Ozone Park I pick You Look Cold, who looks like the lone closer in this field. Last time out she closed from the clouds off an August layoff to just get up and to win going away after altering course getting her first win in her first start here at Aqueduct. She’s 4 for 12 at today’s distance and has been working well in preparation for this effort. Second time off the layoff gets the money.
Race 9: Scarlet’s Dream - 2 pts win - BEST BET (US Morning Line Odds: 3/1)
Maidens bred in New York race 7 furlongs and the opposite of my thought for race 8, here I’m going with the runner who looks like the lone speed of the group. Scarlet’s Dream didn’t race well first time out but stepped up her game in her second start with a HUGE speed figure improvement and posting the fastest speed figure in this group by far. She cuts back in distance today and they’ll have to beat her to cash. 3/1 would be a dream.
