Thursday’s Race Recap from Aqueduct:

(All odds US)

Aqueduct:

Race 1: SCRATCH

Race 2: 3rd@ 4.00/1

Race 9: 3rd@ 4.50/1

In Race 1 our BEST BET scratched. In Race 2, Mia Bea a Star dropped back early and rallied mildly late for third. In Race 9, Shadow Man was squeezed back to last at the start and rallied on for third on a day where you really needed to be on or near the lead early to win.

Let’s stay at Aqueduct as we look at some Friday racing. I’m handicapping for fast conditions although there’s a little rain in the forecast. Let’s get to work!

Aqueduct:

Race 9: Zhen Lou - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 15/1)

Two-year-old maiden fillies bred in New York sprint 6 furlongs and these are the types of races to take shots in because we’ve got a debuting 8/5 morning line favorite with modest works from a noteworthy barn that’s having an underwhelming meet. I’d rather take a shot with 15/1 morning line runner Zhen Lou who debuts for a much lower profile barn that can pop at a big price every now and again. While the breeding may be nothing special the worktab has a few items I like to see: five furlong workouts and a snappy three furlong drill leading into a debut effort. She also lures Javier Castellano to ride. Bombs away to end the day!

Best of luck to all our members playing Friday’s races from Aqueduct!
