Thursday’s Race Recap from Aqueduct:

(All odds US)

Aqueduct:

Race 1: 2nd@ 3.05/1

Race 2: 7th@ 3.45/1

Race 6: 5th@ 11.20/1

In Race 1, African Waters ran okay in her dirt debut but wasn’t able to gun down the more experienced Paris Style and we had to settle for second. In Race 2, Buckortwo was never close and in Race 6, I wasn’t thrilled with Sherzando’s ride. He was making his move on the far turn and ran right into the back of a tiring Clancy Fancy then was ridden tentatively from there on running fifth but missing the win by just over two lengths.

Let’s take a look at a Friday of racing from Aqueduct. Once again, we’re expecting fast and firm conditions. Let’s get to work!

Aqueduct:

Race 6: Voter Registration - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 9/2)

The Tepin is our feature at a mile on turf race for two-year-old fillies and it features a surprising first (in at least five years). This marks the first time in at least five years that Chad Brown will be debuting a runner in a stakes race on turf. Maybe he was just looking for a spot for her and there were no races on the books here at Aqueduct for two-year-old maiden fillies on turf. Well I looked into it and there’s a race for two-year-old turf fillies carded for Saturday. Brown actually has the 7/2 favored morning line debut runner there. So then if that’s not it he must really like this filly to debut her in a stakes race - an unusual move for the barn. Thinking of all the Grade 1 winning turf fillies Brown has had I think it’s worth giving him the benefit of the doubt here. Breeding is there, the connections are there and at 9/2 morning line odds the value is there.

Best of luck to all our members playing Friday’s races from Aqueduct!
