In Race 1, The Delaware Boyz was off slowly but made up ground and had a nice middle-move before flattening out late. In Race 2, Iron Works proved that he could actually run worse than he did last time out, running a flat-to-the-boards fourth. In Race 3, we got revenge as Escalation Clause chased five wide and edged away late in his career debut. In Race 5, we got back-to-back debut winners as Cugino, who actually opened up as the 9/5 favorite before drifting up to 6/1, gamely battled down to the wire for a nose victory. In Race 6, Implicated got a dream trip up the rail while Sacred Wish raced a bit wide finishing second by 1/2 length. In Race 9, Lost Ark never contended.
Let’s close out a profitable week with a sunny and chilly card at Aqueduct. Fast and firm conditions are expected once again.
Aqueduct:
Race 8: Masen - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 4/1)
The Artie Schiller at a mile on turf is our co-feature race today and I like the Chad Brown-trained Masen today. Last time out he returned a year to the day from his most recent start and he finished 9th over a yielding turf course to Big Invasion who would go on to just miss in the Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint last weekend. Masen is a miler though, and that race had the feel of a prep. There’s not a ton of early speed in here and I think between the change in distance and substantial drop in class, Masen looks like he should eat these up.
