The dust has settled from another Breeders’ Cup and we’ve got some racing action from Churchill Downs and Aqueduct this week to keep us busy as we head into slower season. We’re expecting fast and firm conditions with seasonal temperatures at Churchill Downs for Wednesday’s races. Let’s get to work!
Churchill Downs:
Race 6: Lover Girl - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 15/1)
Three-year-old fillies sprint 6 furlongs in this allowance/optional claiming race. I think Lover Girl offers value in this spot at her 15/1 morning line. Based at Canterbury Park for much of her career, Lover Girl made her Kentucky debut last time out facing similar company and finishing third at 57/1 just a little more then a length behind today’s 3/1 morning line Miss Arlington. I see no reason why Lover Girl can’t improve in her second start in Kentucky. She gets a positive rider switch to Cisco Torres, has a trend of speed figure improvement in three consecutive races and has been working at Keeneland, which is an angle that has produced more than a few winners already at this meet.
