Wednesday’s Race Recap from Keeneland:

(All odds US)

Keeneland:

Race 2: 10th@ 2.45/1

Race 3: 3rd@ 10.02/1

Race 6: SCRATCH

Race 8: 2nd@ 2.50/1

In Race 2 Wecallemfuncoupons battled for the early lead but had nothing left in the tank turning for home and faded badly in the drive. In Race 3, Junior Bug raced off a controlled early tempo. They didn’t blitz out there like I had hoped, and Junior Bug came with a nice run for third. In Race 6 we scratched and in Race 8, Luz Divina was with the pace, took the lead turning for home and battled gamely to the wire to lose by a heartbreaking head-bob .

Let’s take a trip up north to trusty old Aqueduct for a Thursday race card. But what about historic Keeneland!? Well, my numbers since 2019 say Aqueduct is way more profitable for us than Keeneland. We’re expecting fast and firm conditions. We’ve got two today.

Let’s get started!

Belmont at Aqueduct:

Race 7: From Hello - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 10/1)

Claiming fillies and mares go a mile and a sixteenth on turf. On paper this looks like a pretty evenly matched field and I’m taking a shot with the rail runner - From Hello. A debut maiden winner (never an easy thing to do and usually indicative of some quality) this three-year-old daughter of Carpe Diem finished second in her first two starts on the green. She had two odd trips after that - one with Jose Ortiz who didn’t seem to give her a chance to strut her stuff and another with Tyler Gaffalione, where she checked sharply, that make her form look worse than it is. In her most recent start, she raced well back and battled on in traffic, closing well for third. With a bit more racing luck she’ll show more today. She’s shown speed in the past and over this inner turf course I’d love to see Katie Davis send her to the front and see how far she can take them. She’s had three works since that most recent start including her most recent, a three-furlong blowout indicating she may show speed. I’m hoping From Hello waves goodbye to these turning for home.

Best of luck to all our members playing Thursday’s races from Aqueduct!
