Thursday’s Race Recap from Delaware Park:

(All odds US)

Delaware Park:

Race 1: SCRATCH

Race 3: 4th@ 4.00/1

Race 5: 2nd@ 1.20/1

We scratched from Race 1. In Race 3 Compass Rose didn’t have a great trip running between horses most of the way and rallied mildly for fourth after being bet down to 4/1 off her 10/1 morning line. In Race 5, Old Bay raced with the pace and put away his rival towards the rail but wasn’t able to hold off a late charge by Boh’s and O’s and had to settle for a frustrating second.

We’re back to Delaware Park for a steamy Friday of racing. Once again, I’m handicapping for fast and firm conditions and praying that we don’t get any humidity-driven thunderstorms to wash us off. Let’s get to the action!

Delaware Park:

Race 5: Tipsy Girl - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 7/2)

Starter allowance fillies sprint 6 furlongs here. Four of the six contestants exit the same race here from August 16 including our 9/5 morning line favorite Touisset. After viewing the replay, Touisset had things her own way up front that day and still couldn’t slam the door on her competition. Today she’ll see pace pressure from Alexis’s Storm who might be a touch faster. Either way I think the race sets up for Tipsy Girl who actually finished second in that August 16 event – the best finish of the four runners. For some reason though she’s 7/2 on the morning line. She ran fine that day and really battled gamely after coming a bit wide into the stretch. The Jamie Ness barn is winning at 26% and they’ve got the barn’s main rider aboard. Value if you’re able to lock in the 7/2 morning line or higher.

Best of luck to all our members playing Friday’s races from Delaware!
