Thursday’s Race Recap from Saratoga:
(All odds US)
Race 1: SCRATCH
Race 5: 1st@ 2.80/1 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Race 7: SCRATCH
Race 9: 1st@ 12.60/1 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Race 10: SCRATCH
Try as we might we still ended up with three scratches on the Thursday card. We scratched from Race 1. In Race 5, Miss d’Or Cherie stalked the early pace on debut and blasted away turning for home easily holding off Book of Wisdom late for a nice win first time out. Then we scratched from Race 7 which was a race that ended up with only two runners after all the scratches. In Race 9, Suerte stalked the early pace and jogged home under a hand ride late to win by 5 lengths.
Let’s start the weekend with a Friday race card from Saratoga! Fast and firm conditions are expected. Let’s get to work!
Race 9: Americanrevolution - 2 pts win (US Morning Line Odds: 1/1)
Sometimes you’ve gotta take the odds for what they are, and I’ve got a few favorites today but at 1/1 odds Americanrevolution is a good bet. A Grade 1 winner and millionaire, Americanrevolution has already done plenty but he’s back off almost a year off and has a strong enough worktab for a barn that wins off nearly 20% of these types of layoffs. Jockey Luis Saez has won with 5 of the 7 starts he’s ridden him, and he breaks from the inside post which is a favorable spot for this mile race that begins in the chute. Those runner up finishes to Olympiad last year look even better when you know that Olympiad finished second in the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Classic behind the great Flightline. He’s one of only two runners with wins at both the surface and distance and looks to have this field over a barrel in terms of class.
Best of luck to all our members playing Friday’s races from Saratoga!
