Wednesday’s Race Recap from Delaware:
(All odds US)
Race 2: 1st@ 0.30/1 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Race 3: 3rd@ 0.60/1
Race 6: 2nd@ 1.60/1
In Race 2 Copper Tax went off at 1/5 and proved best after stalking the early pace. Experience paid off. I’m hoping some of our European members locked in those morning line odds. In Race 3 they rained us off the turf and that’s never good. My Boy Colton took the lead turning for home at 3/5 but flattened out late. In Race 6, Phileas Fogg sped to the front and battled Ardanwood til the top of the stretch where that one imposed his will and drew away. We had to settle for second.
A first, a second and a third place finish from three selections on the day off the layoff who were all bet well below their morning line prices.
We’re back at Delaware for a Thursday of racing. I’ll be handicapping for fast and firm conditions once again. Let’s get to it!
Race 8: Collected’s Star - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 8/1)
Maidens sprint 5 1/2 furlongs to put a bow around another Thursday of racing. There are a few first time starters in here and I’m siding with the one who breaks on the outside - Collected’s Star. Trainer Graham Motion is better known for his turf runners but here at Delaware he’s won 2 of 10 starts (20%) with an 8 for 10 (80%) in the money percentage with debut runners on dirt sprinting here at Delaware. Runners to the inside will likely go favored but this miss is a half to two stakes winners: Canonize and Declan’s Warrior. She’s got a slew of five furlong drills under her belt in preparation for this and the price should be right.
Best of luck to all our members playing Thursday’s races from Delaware!
