Race 6: 9th@ 3.00/1
Race 8: 1st@ 0.40/1 - BEST BET 🔥🔥🔥
In Race 6, Faringdon broke slowly and checked several times throughout the race in a troubled debut before finishing 9th. In Race 8, Runaway Jack was given a terrible ride by Carol Cedeno, dropping back to last then stuck behind horses entering the stretch but despite her efforts he was simply too good for these and blew by the staggering front runners in midstretch.
Let’s change the scenery a little and take in some afternoon racing from Belmont Park. My dirt selections this season have outperformed my turf selections so I'm sticking with dirt racing there for Friday’s card. No rain in the forecast. Let’s get to work!
Race 7: Caerus - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 15/1)
Lower level claimers sprint 6 furlongs on dirt here. This is a race chock-full of older gutsy geldings. Caerus is the only runner in the field who’s still intact down below and while that’s not the reason he’s our selection, I’m sure it makes him feel better. Sure he’s 15/1 on the morning line but his low profile connections are part of the equation here. Caerus is a closer in a race that appears to have some real pace in it. His neighbor to his inside is Bronx Bomber, who’s 4/1 on the morning line and whose last speed figure was a 65. There’s a 3/1 shot to his outside and his last speed figure was 68. Caerus’ most recent speed figure was a 70 and he’s got plenty in his past performances that say he belongs in this group. Upset special!
Best of luck to all our members playing Friday’s races from Belmont Park!
