God's Tipster's Thursday Gulfstream Park Pick: In the 4th, a turf mile, looking to ride a Wave to the win

Good morning racing fans! We’ve got racing today from Gulfstream Park and Belmont as well. Fast and firm conditions are expected at both tracks. At Belmont I’m going to focus on dirt racing this week as we’ve done significantly better on dirt than turf so far at this meet. Let’s get right to work!

Gulfstream Park:

Race 4: Admiral’s Wave - 1 pt win

(US Morning Line Odds: 4/1)

Maiden claimers race a mile on the turf. Our lukewarm morning line favorite is Racket who just missed breaking his maiden over polytrack last time out. He’s the speed of the field but I don’t like the way he ran the last time he transitioned from polytrack to turf. For a barn that’s just 1 for 40 I’ll take my chances elsewhere. Admiral’s Wave made an eye-catching turf debut last time out. Coming off a brief freshening he stalked the pace, checked into the far turn losing 2-3 lengths, but came with a run that was good enough to defeat ten other rivals. Five runners from that field have returned. Four of the five have improved their next speed figure and the fifth stayed the same. Will be moving late.
