Race Replays

Belmont Park:

Race 2: 5th@ 5.30/1

Race 4: 3rd@ 4.90/1

Race 7: 1st@ 9.10/1 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Race 9: 10th@ 10.90/1

In Race 2, Squid Gamer raced near the back early and got stuck behind horses from the backstretch through the far turn and to the top of the stretch. When he finally got clear sailing the race was over as Ormstown aired. Not Joel Rosario’s finest moment in the irons. In Race 4, Sweetie was well back early and was given a ground saving ride by apprentice Madison Oliver, she looked a bit uncomfortable being on the inside of horses in the stretch and was beaten a nose for second. In Race 7, Daddy Knows sped out to the early lead, turned back an early bid from Aggregation, and two late bids from Hush of a Storm and Olympic Dreams for an exceptionally game winning effort. In Race 9, Stjames needs to go back to church and say a few more prayers. He was dreadful, never contending while racing 4 wide.

We’ll take another look at Belmont for Friday’s races. Beautiful weather ahead with fast and firm conditions expected. Let’s get to work!

Belmont Park:

Race 9: St. Benedict’s Prep - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 10/1)

Maiden fillies close out our day racing 7 furlongs on the turf. We’ve got an intriguing field here filled with layoff runners, debut runners and a few who did really well in their recent starts. St. Benedict’s Prep was where I landed. This filly is posted on the outside and gets Lasix for the first time today. Trainer Chad Brown has exceptional numbers with runners coming off similar layoffs racing on the turf for the first time. This runner is owned by some pretty clever connections and is bred for turf. Her second dam was Wend who won 7 of 13 races on grass including the Grade 2 New York and the Grade 2 Jenny Wiley at Keeneland. She’s been working well and her price should be generous.

Wishing our members the very best of luck playing Friday’s races from Belmont Park!
