Good morning racing fans. We’re back to Belmont Park for a Thursday afternoon of racing. We’re expecting fast and firm conditions. Let’s get to work! There were no picks yesterday.
Race 9: Stjames - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 10/1)
Maiden claimers race a mile over the turf here in our nightcap. We’ve got a first time starter from the Chad Brown barn and they always take money but I’m looking to beat him today with Stjames, who may not get the respect at the windows he deserves. Granted Stjames is a 12 race maiden who’s had 7 tries on the turf and finished third once, but he’s also been facing considerably tougher competition in those starts and now gets back to his preferred surface after matching his career best speed figure over the dirt last time out. He’s made an effort in every turf start and peruse through some names of the runners he’s faced in those starts and you find a few that would be 3/5 against these. Low profile connections ensure a fair price.
Best of luck to all our members playing Thursday’s races from Belmont Park!
