Saturday’s Race Recap from Aqueduct:

(All odds US)

Aqueduct:

Race 1: 1st@ 1.55/1 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Race 2: SCRATCH

Race 4: 4th@ 8.80/1

Race 5: 2nd@ 3.00/1

Race 8: SCRATCH

In Race 1, Miss Stones shot to the front and never looked back leaving them all eating mud behind her. In Race 4, the MASSIVE Echo in Eternity broke tardily but gained good ground and rallied on the turn while racing greenly and finishing fourth. In Race 5, Two Thirty Five out-broke Healing and that made all the difference as that one never looked back and Healing settled for second.

Saturday’s Race Recap from Churchill Downs:

(All odds US)

Churchill Downs:

Race 3: SCRATCH

Race 5: 1st@ 2.20/1 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Race 7: 2nd@ 4.75/1

Race 8: 2nd@ 6.06/1

Race 10: 8th@ 5.20/1

In Race 3 we had a scratch. In Race 5, just as we started our day at Aqueduct with a win, Sidekick stalked a scorching hot pace and took command to draw off without any anxious moments. In Race 7, Medaglia Forever did all the dirty work on the front end setting the pace in this mile and a quarter marathon. She turned back the challenge of Corsini but couldn’t hold off Peak Popularity who surged at the wire to win by a neck. In Race 8, Madrelina was given a great trip off the speed by Gerardo Corrales, took the lead in mid-stretch and just got run down late by favored Nota Bene giving us yet another second place finish. In Race 10, Cronus never contended after checking early.

Two winners and three second place finishes from 7 runners. Three scratches on the day.

Let’s close the week and the month of April with some racing from Aqueduct. Rain rain rain all Saturday long and we’re supposed to have rain Sunday too. I’m handicapping for sloppy / off the turf conditions. Let’s get to it!

Aqueduct:

Race 8: Lobsta - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 12/1)

We close out a tour of duty at Aqueduct that began last September when Saratoga ended due to ongoing construction at Belmont Park. Belmont reopens Thursday and this is the feature race of the day - the 6 furlong Affirmed Success for New York bred runners. There’s plenty of speed signed on and I’m siding with Lobsta to sit just off the pace from the outside. Today he reunites with jockey Javier Castellano, with whom he won a similar stake race here at 28/1 odds over this surface. All four of Lobsta’s wins have come at Aqueduct and this guy has been working bullets for a barn that’s unusually hot at 3 for 8 for the meet 38%. Bombs away to end the day, the month and the Aqueduct meet. Lobsta for EVERYONE!!!

Best of luck to all our members playing Sunday’s races from Aqueduct!
