Saturday’s Race Recap from Aqueduct:

(All odds US)

Aqueduct:

Race 4: 3rd@ 2.65/1

Race 5: 3rd@ 4.10/1

Race 6: 10th@ 49.25/1

Race 8: 6th@ 11.10/1

In Race 4, Im Just Kiddin broke ok and was taken back early by Jose Ortiz. He was still reserved for some reason til the far turn when he asked him for run he exploded with a furious late rally but he had too much work to do and finished third while quickly galloping out past the winner. It’s always frustrating to lose when you’ve handicapped the best horse. He’s definitely a play next time out. Jockey Jorge Vargas must be taking riding lessons from Jose Ortiz. In a similar effort, Two for Charging was taken well off a lone, loose leader and came with a flying finish but was too late while having to settle for third. I’m detecting a theme. In Race 6 Forward Cast raced with the early pace before tiring and in Race 8, Ten Cent Town stalked the pace from the outside, ranged up on the far turn and looked poised to make her move when she was bumped and then dropped out of contention.

We’ll stay at Aqueduct to close out the week. We’re expecting rain overnight Saturday into Sunday so I’ve handicapped accordingly. Let’s get started!

Aqueduct:

Race 9: Red D G P - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 8/1)

Maiden claimers bred in New York close out our day at 6 furlongs on the main track. There are no standouts in this field so I’m giving Red D G P a long look as he drops back into state bred claimers for the first time since his career debut. In that debut effort he finishes a good third after pressing the early pace. From there he was jumped up in class and paid the price finishing up the track in three straight starts. The speed figures he earned in those starts, however, fit well with this group and he’s worked four times since the layoff for a low profile barn that’s caught fire lately.

Best of luck to all our members playing Sunday’s races from Aqueduct!
