Race 4: 3rd@ 4.90/1
Race 6: 1st@ 5.40/1 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
In Race 4, Machismo sat the perfect trip off the speed, switched out in the stretch and just could not get by the two favorites finishing third while just missing second place. In Race 6, Trappezoid gunned to the lead and turned back several challenges enroute to a 5/1 gate to wire score.
From sunny Tampa we’ll shift our tack to potentially rainy Aqueduct where there’s a 50% chance of rain as of the writing of this email. No turf races carded so we won’t have to worry much about scratches. Let’s get to Aqueduct!
Race 8: Splashy - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 7/2)
Maidens bred in New York sprint 6 furlongs to close out our Thursday and we’ve got a handful of first and second time starters who will get attention in the wagering. I like Splashy who made her debut in November and finished fourth. She was sent to Florida with trainer Christophe Clement’s better runners. She returns today with a few decent five furlong drills. She’s been working with a filly named Silver Skillet from the Clement barn who was a blowout winner of her maiden race here in December and Canisy - a strong allowance turf type. So she’s been keeping strong company and appears to have improved. She’ll get Lasix today for her second start and from a breeding standpoint, this miss’s dam won her first two starts and siblings Brattle House and Bourbon Bay won or placed in all six of their combined first six starts.
Best of luck to all our members playing Thursday’s races from Aqueduct!
