We’re back for a really big week of racing here in the States. This Saturday we’ve got two of the major Kentucky Derby prep races: the Grade 1 Florida Derby from Gulfstream Park and the Grade 1 Arkansas Derby from Oaklawn Park. In the meantime, we’ve got an 8-race card from Gulfstream to get to. We’re expecting fast and firm conditions. In my Sunday email I mentioned that we’ve had our best luck with dirt sprints and turf routes so that’s our agenda for today. Let’s get to work!
Race 7: The Mrs - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 3/1)
Florida-bred allowance runners sprint 6 furlongs here for three-year-old fillies. This looks like the filly counterpart to Race 5. Dream Comet will probably scratch as she raced on Sunday at Tampa in a stakes race. The Mrs has raced four times and has tried her heart out each time. After breaking her maiden two starts back she ran into Flakes in her last start and Flakes is a nice filly. She still closed ground that day in a race that’s already seen two next-out winners. Look for The Mrs to sit a nice stalking trip from her outside post and pounce when the time comes.
Wishing our members the very best of luck wagering on Wednesday’s races from Gulfstream!
