Saturday’s Race Recap from Gulfstream:

(All odds US)

Gulfstream Park:

Race 4: 3rd@ 0.80/1

Race 6: 1st@ 1.20/1 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

In the Texas Glitter, Dr Oseran gunned to the lead with co-favorite Crispy Cat. The two battled for 4 1/2 of the 5 furlongs of the race through punishing fractions with Crispy Cat getting the win and Dr. Oseran fading to third. In Race 6, Siege of Boston was meant to stalk the pace but with no early interest, Jorge Ruiz took advantage of his rail post and sent Siege of Boston to the lead as he led the field on a merry chase for a 6/5 win here in the U.S. Hoping that our overseas members locked in the 4/1 morning line with your bookmakers!

Saturday’s Race Recap from Fair Grounds:

(All odds US)

Fair Grounds:

Race 2: *2nd@ 0.60/1 (*disqualified and placed 3rd)

Race 8: 4th@ 6.80/1

Race 12: 3rd@ 6.20/1

In Race 2 on the day, the debuting Castlewarden raced greenly throughout, bumping Billy Jack on the turn. An infraction he would be disqualified for. He had dead aim on the eventual winner in the stretch but failed to change leads when asked to catch the leader. When I saw him enter the post parade wearing blinkers for today’s debut effort, I wasn’t thrilled as Cox’s debut runners only win 13% of the time when equipped with blinkers. Unfortunately they don’t give us that information on debut runners ahead of time. Finished 2nd but disqualified and placed third. In Race 8, She Can’t Sing stalked the early pace and had every chance when given perfect positioning by Brian Hernandez but could not quicken with the best of them when asked. In the Grade 2 Louisiana Derby, Jace’s Road stalked the pace set by Kingsbarns. He took his run on the far turn but was rebuffed by Kingsbarns, the eventual winner and faded to third.

We’ll close out the week where we started – at BEAUTIFUL, sunny Gulfstream Park. We’re expecting fast and firm conditions beneath sunny skies and warm temperatures. Let’s get to work.

Gulfstream Park:

Race 10: Wand - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 3/1)

We’ll close out our day the same way we opened it. Maiden claimers race a mile and a sixteenth on turf. On the surface there’s not a lot of speed here and my initial thought was to try to identify one that might run away but with three runners adding blinkers I’m guessing that the pace will be a little faster than it looks on paper. In viewing replays, Wand looks like the only one of these who wants to win. Last time out she probably should’ve won but was forced out and steadied late after closing from far back after stalking a slow pace. A similar setup today should put her in the winners circle.

Best of luck to all our members playing Sunday’s races from Gulfstream!
