God's Tipster's Wednesday Gulfstream Park Pick: What does it take to win the 6th? Pace, class & Absolute Grit

Good morning racing fans and welcome to another exciting week of racing from around the U.S. This week by “around the U.S.” I strictly mean the state of Florida where we’ve got racing from Gulfstream mostly all week followed by the Grade 2 Tampa Bay Derby on Saturday at Tampa. Sunshine with a fast main track and a firm turf course are expected for the entire week in Florida. Let’s get started !

Gulfstream Park:

Race 6: Absolute Grit - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 7/5)

Remember that angle I just spoke about on the Race 2 favorite of Rohan Crichton trained runners being ridden by Irad Ortiz win at 54%? Well maybe it’s not so bad after all. I’m kidding of course but it is one of the extras I like about Absolute Grit. To me though that’s secondary to the fact that he appears to lay over this field in terms of pace and class. Absolute Grit looks like very much the controlling speed here and in terms of class, in his last two starts he faced Candy Man Rocket, who would return to win a stakes race last weekend and more recently, Sibelius, who would be 1/2 in this field. Gate to wire threat.
