Gulfstream Park:

Race 4: 6th@ 9.80/1

Race 8: 1st@ 4.70/1 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Race 9: 6th@ 11.10/1

Our week got off to an eventful start as Mariano almost lost her rider Paco Lopez at the start of the race. He actually looked like he was falling off after getting ping-ponged by the runner to her inside and her outside who broke out and in but somehow Lopez held on. After the disastrous start, she was a long way last for most of the running and actually passed a few horses in the lane. The stewards had a look at the start but almost never make a change based on the start of a race so the results stood. In Race 8, Flakes sat the perfect stalking trip and took over when asked and had nobody closing behind her. Kikilove, our 8/5 favorite, proved that her tired-looking action in her last replay was no illusion and finished a tired fifth. In Race 9, Father Glado never had much punch despite the wicked early pace and checked in sixth.

Another profitable day for us thanks to Flakes connecting at 9/2.

Let’s keep the South Florida party pumping as we move back to Gulfstream for Thursday’s races where fast and firm conditions are expected once again. Let’s get started!

Thursday at Gulfstream Park:

Race 8: Big Save - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 15/1)

Florida bred three-year-olds sprint 7 furlongs and this race is loaded with early speed. As a matter of fact our three morning line favorites have all done their best work on the front end of races and each has shown a little give when the going gets tough. This is an elongated sprint and I’m going to give a nod to a closer who’s cutting back in distance from tapeta races named Big Save. This 15/1 shot is one of only three in the field with wins at the 7 furlong distance and over the Gulfstream Park surface. Last time out he ran into Classic Car Wash who would go on to run a string third in the Sam F. Davis Stakes at Tampa. I love the three works since that last start including one nice, sharp 5 furlong drill in 1:01.1 and I think Big Save offers BIGTIME value closing from off the pace today.

Best of luck to all our members playing Thursday’s races from Gulfstream!
